North Country Bonecruncher League Rules Page

As Mentioned, this site was developed to satisfy the demands for a unique rules and scoring system. Below are the rules. The scoring system is discussed on the scoring rules page.

1. Draft will be held at 12:00 noon on the last Sunday before the regular football season begins.

2. Attendence at the Draft is required draft players.

3. The location of the Draft will be revealed when the entry fee is paid. Refreshments (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be served throughout the event. Please remember, this is a social event among friends, a party. Let's keep the mood light and fun.

4. Once again, this year the entry fee into the league is $50.00. Also, there will be no extra fees for midseason trades (week #6 & week #12) this year. From the entry fees, the first $100.00 (or so) goes to plaques for the top three finishers and $50 (or so) pays for the web site. The remainder is referred to as 'BOOTY', and to be divided up among the top three finishers as explained in item #14.

5. The order of the draft will be determined by reversing the order of the final standings from last year. So, the one finishing in last place last year will get the #1 draft pick this year. Conversely, one who won last year, will get the last draft pick in the first round this year. If there are new members, they will draw lots to assign order and take their turn after last years league winner.

6. To be sure things proceed in an orderly fashion, each Owner gets only 3 minutes each round to make their selection. To be sure you are ready, please pay attention to other Team Owners selections and time your bathroom runs, etc... accordingly.

7. Once selected and posted to the database, a draft chice is final. Any trades must follow the rules in item #11. Injury replacements will be made using the rules in item #8.

8. A player is considered injured if he is listed in the injury report prior to kickoff, (regardless of their status as probable, doubtful, etc...) and that player does not play at all during that game.
When this is the case, the player that starts in place of the injured player will score points until the injured player is returned to the active roster.
If a player gets injured during a game, his position is not considered replaced until the start of the next game.
A more detailed description of the injury replacement rules is included on the Injury Report page.

9. If your replacement player has already been drafted by another Owner, then BOTH Owners will receive points from that player until it is determined that the injured player is fit to play. If the injured player is eligible to play, but the replacement player is used anyways, then the Team Owner who drafted the now healthy player will receive NO points from this position.

10. Please see the Bye Week Rules page for an explaination of the Bye Week Rule.

11.Midseason Trades. Before the kickoff of the first game in week #6, each Owner has the option of getting rid of one of their players and replacing him with a previously undrafted player. The order of this supplemental draft is the reverse of the first round in the original draft. So, if you got the 15th pick in the first round, you are the first Team Owner who can replace a player in week #6.
Then, before kickoff of the first game in week #12, each Owner will have the opportunity to trade one more player for a previously unpicked player. The order of the week #12 supplemental draft will be the same as the original preseason draft.

12. Each team will be made up of the following players:

  • 3 Running backs
  • 2 Sackmasters
  • 3 Wide Receivers
  • 1 Defense
  • 2 Quarterbacks
  • 1 Tight End
  • 2 Kickers
  • 1 Coach

13. A summary of each owners' final points will be posted on this website the first Sunday in January. Discrepancies in scoring must be brought to the attention of either commissioner right away so changes can be made before the next Saturday, which is the deadline for the trophy engravings.

14. The first place prize is a 13 x 11 plaque that highlights the two most prolific players from the team. The winner also gets a 50% cut of the BOOTY. Additionally, the winner gets possession of the coveted Wiseman trophy for al next season.

The second place prize is an 11 x 9 plaque that highlights the two most prolific players from the team. The runner up also gets a 30% cut of the BOOTY.

The third place prize is also an 11 x 9 plaque that highlights the two most prolific players from the team. Third place also gets a 20% cut of the BOOTY.

15. There will be an End Of Season celebration at the same location as the Draft. It will start at 12:00 noon on the first Sunday after the playoffs are over and the Superbowl teams have be decided. All Team Owners are encouraged to attend. Awards will be handed out, and refreshments will be served throughout the event. This promises to be a good time.
